Still Time to Register for Jul. 9-11 University of Cincinnati CoN 7th iCoN
This July 9th-11th the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing is hosting its 7th annual iCoN event, leading nurse educators in a new technological era through creativity, ingenuity and inclusion. Join them to learn to transform the classroom, both didactic and clinical, with active learning strategies using the iPad and healthcare simulation technologies! There is still time to register!
Guided by their vision and supported by a group of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community partners who embrace a spirit of innovation, UC College of Nursing prepares nurse leaders to provide the best care for all patients in the ever-changing and increasingly complex reality of patient and health care. Their iCoN initiative, started in 2012, has helped us transform the way they teach, the way students learn and the way they lead as a college. The initiative continues to expand, and students are now engaging in active learning strategies, using their iPad devices to create capstone projects and receiving real-time feedback on assignments and tests. Faculty members continue to find innovative ways to flip the classroom and more fully engage students.
Since the first national conference in 2016, the iCoN Summer Institute has built momentum, attracting educators, health care providers and other professionals from around the country who want to leverage the iPad and technology to enhance the classroom experience and provide an innovative, engaging approach to learning.
This three-day event provides training from our experienced instructional designers and in-house information technology staff on integrating technology in teaching methods, using creativity- and productivity-boosting applications and more.
Through the success of the iCoN initiative which leverages iPad utilization and technology across the curriculum, the UC College of Nursing has received designation as an Apple Distinguished School three times. As an Apple Distinguished School the UC CoN is seen as a center of innovation, leadership, technology and educational excellence that inspires creativity, collaboration and academic excellence in both our faculty and students.
In 2012, the team hosted its first annual iCoN Summer Institute, a professional learning opportunity that provides nursing educators and technology professionals with practical and interactive training on technologies to innovate teaching and learning. This successful annual event hosts more than 120 educators and technology professionals from all over the country each year.
The upcoming 7th iCoN Summer Institute provides a unique opportunity to connect with schools and colleges that are interested in using technology to engage their students. Sponsorship opportunities are still available!
