About the 2018 Saudi Health Simulation Conference
In recent years, the healthcare simulation Application has witness tremendous growth. Patient care and safety were the main reason of the growth of simulation training to focus on the skills and improve the quality of health staff and services, along with advanced technology in surgeries and treatments. From there the Saudi Ministry of Health adopted the awareness of simulation through the Saudi Health Simulation Conference, that aims to raise the awareness in the medical filed by providing a full understanding of the use of Simulation-Based education throughout the Kingdom by bringing together international, regional and national leaders and speakers who will discuss issues related and International standards in addition to best practices that manage and support successful implementation of effective Simulation-Based training.
The Saudi Health Simulation Conference 2018 aims to improve the foundation of the scientific and practical development of integrated national strategy and infrastructure, to build the national capacity and networking and to raise the awareness in improving the patient care and safety, which are the main goals of the Ministry of Health. In addition being accredited and supported by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, this conference will create an opportunity to understand the use of Simulation-Based education throughout Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by bringing together international, regional and national leaders and speakers who will discuss issues related to International standards and best practices that manage and support successful implementation of effective Simulation-Based training.
From the Conference Chair Dr. Hani Lababidi
From the very beginning, the Ministry of Health has recognized the importance of simulation in training healthcare workers and has been generously sponsoring these conferences since 2015. Currently, Saudi Arabia is undergoing major leaps to the future. Vision 2030 will transform the healthcare sector to be highly competitive, efficient, outcome oriented, and skillful. It is our responsibility to prepare the healthcare workforce to prevail and stand for these challenges.
Accordingly, we have chosen the theme of SHSC 2018 to be: “Supporting Healthcare Transformation”. SHSC 2016 witnessed the birth of the Saudi Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSSH) and SHSC 2018 will witness the first general assembly of the SSSH. The members of the SHSC 2018 Scientific Committee are working hard to put together a breathtaking program. Besides world class plenary presentations by renowned speakers, SHSC 2018 attendees will have ample opportunities to participate in various contests to demonstrate their expertise in simulation. Further to the very popular “SimDawri”, there will be competitions in debriefing, moulage, innovations and simulation technologies. We are all excited to meet you on April 23, 2018 at Four Seasons Conference Center, Kingdom Tower, Riyadh.
