Echo Healthcare

Echo Healthcare is a dynamic medical simulation company focused on improving patient safety through the use of advanced simulation technology. With over 20 years of industry experience, the company is committed to redefining innovation and service by offering tailored solutions to customers. Echo Healthcare represents select, innovative products and services in the field of clinical simulation and education that bring a new level of realism to scenario-based medical education, including realistic patient manikins, patient masks, simulated patient monitors, simulated virtual environments, simulation technical support services and more.

Echo Healthcare was founded by a group of passionate healthcare simulation experts who bring over 40 years of experience into the marketplace. Together, this team has created a “circle of innovation” by bringing diverse product lines that complement one another and can grow as your programs expand. The company believes programs should be built around a client’s needs and not restricted by the limitations of a clinical simulator. Thus, Echo Healthcare provides solutions that can be tailored to client educational needs.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Echo Healthcare actively engaged in and extended help to local health authorities and healthcare facilities in their time of need. The company recognizes that there is a need for medical equipment, both disposable and non disposable. To this end, Echo Healthcare offered up technology and expertise, including 3D printing and manufacturing, to support efforts to create such products as ventilator circuit adapters and splitters.

Lifecast Body Simulation Partnership

Echo Healthcare is the proud licensor, manufacturer and distributor of Lifecast Body Simulation Products in North America. Lifecast Body Simulation has developed a range of highly accurate and lifelike medical simulation manikins that are transforming the way medical simulation and education are delivered and absorbed. These products are created and designed in the United Kingdom but produced and manufactured in Florida. Every manikin demonstrates incredible realism and the very highest build quality. With an ever-evolving range, the company develops preterm and newborn babies as well as children and adults, making each one available in multiple ethnicities.

Micro-Preemie: Lifecast’s new Micro-Preemie Baby Manikin has been created by the company’s team in the United Kingdom, along with the invaluable assistance of Dr. Alok Sharma, Consultant Neonatologist at Southampton Hospital, England. The development of this manikin can help prepare healthcare providers in the urgent medical management of these most vulnerable of patients.

Preterm & Full Term Babies: Echo Healthcare’s manikin range now includes a 28 to 29 week premature baby featuring full airway and UVC Umbilicus. The newborn baby is a highly accurate and lifelike infant designed to create an emotional response during education and training.

DDH Baby: Working with the team from The Royal Surrey Hospital, Lifecast Body Simulation has been able to produce the world’s first Hip Dysplasia Examination Manikin. This innovative manikin allows clinical staff to replicate the examination by involving gentle manipulation of the baby’s hip joints to check if there are any problems. The baby comes with all the features of the standard ALS Baby.

Infant (3 to 6 Months): Echo Healthcare added an Infant to the Lifecast Family with the addition of a 3- to 6-month infant featuring the same ultra-realism customers have come to expect. By encouraging more natural handling and creating an emotional response, Lifecast Infant achieves a new level of realism in medical simulation training.

Water Rescue Toddler: This is a toddler manikin designed to simulate wet or dry lung drowning and thoracic bleeding. As part of our ongoing quest to create increasingly realistic and challenging medical simulation scenarios, the team at Lifecast Body Simulation has created a variant of the existing Lifecast Toddler capable of producing wet lung drowning or thoracic bleeding effects.

Resternotomy Manikin: This manikin, Harley, has been created from a collaboration between the team at Lifecast Body Simulation Ltd. and the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. Harley has been specifically designed to facilitate high-fidelity simulation of emergency resternotomy for cardiac deterioration and/or arrest following cardiac surgery.

Toddler & Children: Lifecast Body Simulation toddler and child manikins are highly accurate and lifelike. Based on the lifecasts and scans of real children, the Lifecast Toddler (based on a three-year-old) and Child (based on an eight-year-old) feature highly lifelike details.

Adult Male & Female: Based on the lifecasts and scans of real people, Lifecast Adults feature lifelike details, including replication of veins and underlying structures, hair and precise anatomical mouths and airways enabling ALS airway management.

Senior Male & Female: These manikins represent an 82-year-old male and female adult bodies. Lifecast Senior features nuanced and lifelike details, such as replication of veins and underlying structures like hair. It also includes an airway and articulated mouth for airway management. Available in a wide range of ethnicities and created with the same weight and height of an average senior adult, the Lifecast Senior will encourage more natural handling, bringing a new level of realism to medical training.

iSimulate: iSimulate provides smart simulation solutions that are used by organizations across the world. iSimulate’s mantra is simple – they use the best of current mobile technology to create products that are more realistic, cost effective and simpler to use than traditional solutions. iSimulate products include:

  • REALITi: Starting with two iPads, REALITi is a highly advanced patient monitor simulator which mimics proprietary monitors and defibrillators. By expanding the system with more iPads, a complete in-situ simulator with video and simulated patient records can be created.
  • CTGi: CTGi is an economical, highly advanced and realistic fetal heart rate monitor simulation package. Using just two iPads, the lightness and simplicity of CTGi makes this product ideal for in-situ training.
  • AURiS: AURiS is a simulation stethoscope with advanced sensor technology. Heart, lung, bowel and Bruit sounds are all included. The learner only hears sounds when the stethoscope is placed on the body. It has an easy to use instructor interface. AURiS can be used on manikins and standardized patients.

Monivent Neo Training: Monivent Neo Training is a unique system that enables health care professionals to develop their ability to deliver safe, effective and consistent manual ventilation to the most vulnerable of patient groups – newborns. This important advance helps caregivers develop and maintain the “feel” of safe ventilatory support and, in doing so, dramatically reduce the risks associated with inadequate or excessive ventilatory volumes.

EOlife: EOlife provides educators with a unique training tool for teaching optimal bag/valve/mask and bag/valve/airway ventilation skills. The breath to breath Tidal Volume display helps Basic & Advanced Life Support providers develop and maintain the ‘feel’ of delivering safe and effective ventilatory volumes. The ventilation rate display ensures that, along with appropriate Tidal Volumes, the delivered minute ventilatory volumes are controlled to prevent the harm caused by hyperventilation.

MDTs LifeSpace Foldaway Medical Education Environments: MDTs LifeSpace Foldaway Medical Education Environments enable educators to create clinical spaces that enhance realism during medical simulation training. MDT offers a generic ambulance design along with bespoke systems that replicate individual coach built ambulance designs (inside and out) or critical care department areas. LifeSpace provides a practical and cost effective simulated clinical space solution.

Simology: The new standard in ultra-realistic wound simulation, Simology wounds are moulded from premium quality soft silicone, come pre-painted and are easy to apply. All wounds come in a choice of four skin tones with various kits and instructional videos being available for wound application, bruising creation and skin tone blending. Simology wounds are suitable for use on humans and manikins, including the ground-breaking Lifecast Body Simulation range. Learn more on the Echo Healthcare website or read these articles below.
