TacMed Solutions Acquires TraumaFX & Announces New Trauma Simulator Rental Program

Major emergency trauma simulation industry news today with the announcement that TacMed Solutions, aka TacMed, has recently acquired the US-based TraumaFX Solutions and also launched an impressive trauma simulator rental program. First responders, military personnel, and other emergency response teams greatly benefit from simulated training. To help meet these growing training demands, TacMed Solutions provides military, police, EMS, and other emergency services the ability to complete hands-on clinical training exercises using human and K9 simulators rugged enough to represent real-world trauma environments. Here we learn more about their new trauma simulator rental program and the company’s expanded portfolio following its acquisition of Trauma FX Solutions.

TacMed Trauma Simulator Rental Program

The TacMed Simulation Rental Program offers realistic trauma injury experiences through both high and low-fidelity simulators. “This rental program is designed to offer any agency or trainer – large or small – the opportunity to use high fidelity trauma simulators in classes, providing their students and trainees with the ability to learn on manikins that simulate a real-world environment,” said Will Wennberg, CEO of TacMed Solutions. “For our customers, training is a key factor in survivability, and we are thrilled to be able to make these best-in-class simulators more widely available to better prepare others when faced with dangerous or life-threatening situations.”

Rentals have a two-day minimum with discounts offered for extended rental time periods. Additionally, rentals need to be requested at least four weeks in advance, though some requests may be accommodated on shorter lead times depending on availability and destination. Customers can also view available medical consumable packages and add them to a rental request for single invoice billing.

“Our use of renting K9 Diesel was so successful that we’ve since purchased K9 Hero and still continue to rent K9 Diesel when needed,” said Jo-Anne Brenner, the executive director and founder of K9 MEDIC, whose team recently utilized the rental program. “The rental program itself is equally commendable. From shipping to packaging to user support, our course coordinators can rely on the professionalism of TacMed to ensure we deliver excellence to our students.”

Expanded TacMed Rebrand with Addition of Clinical Simulation & Protection Solutions

In May 2021, TacMed announced a corporate rebrand following the additions of medical simulation and protection offerings to the TacMed portfolio. These additions were intended to provide a full-scale solution to customers focusing on three core tenets: equip, train, protect. As part of TacMed’s rebranding and growth strategy, the company also acquired TraumaFX Solutions and the DKX brand of body armor. Now, Tactical Medical Solutions will be branded as TacMed Solutions with three pillars: TacMed Medical, TacMed Simulation, and TacMed Protection.

According to the company, the new business model offers TacMed customers and first responders a one-stop solution for all their needs, including medical equipment, training and simulation, and protective gear. As part of TacMed’s three-pillar business approach, each of the new divisions will focus on one aspect of the response experience. TacMed Medical will continue to equip first responders with the highest quality medical gear at the point of injury, and products will always be rooted in user-focused design, extensive research and testing, and personal experience and knowledge.

Through the company’s acquisition of TraumaFX Solutions, TacMed Simulation will offer state-of-the-art training solutions with high-fidelity trauma manikins. The life-like healthcare simulators provide responders with the autonomous response to field treatment, creating immersive training. This training experience developed first responders the confidence and expertise to effectively work under stressful conditions.

“TacMed, at its core, has always taken pride in providing best-in-class, innovative medical solutions supporting Warfighters and both professional and immediate responders,” said CEO Will Wennberg. “With the acquisition of TraumaFX Solutions and the DKX body armor line of products, we can now provide a full suite of medical devices, trauma simulators, and protective equipment to better serve our customers and those requiring aid. We have never been more dedicated to our mission – which will never waiver – and can now train, equip and protect the brave men and women we support and serve.”
