SESAM’s mission is to encourage and support the use of simulation in healthcare for the purpose of training and research. SESAM’s core mission is to develop a sustainable inter-professional community of practice across Europe that strives to advance knowledge, improve quality and promote access to healthcare simulation. SESAM’s vision is improved healthcare through simulation. Enabling safe, patient-centred care delivered by a competent and confident healthcare workforce in a well-functioning healthcare system. In order to achieve their mission and vision, they have developed a strategy with 5 strategic goals, each with specific objectives and implementation plans. It is envisioned that the strategy will be reviewed annually at the SESAM Annual Retreat to ensure it remains fit for purpose and responds to new challenges. SESAM will host the organization’s 28th Annual Meeting of the Society from June 14 to 16, 2023. The meeting will take place face-to-face in Libson, Portugal.

Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare (ASPiH UK) Annual Conference
November 3-5, 2024 in Edinburgh, Scotland
ASPiH is a non-profit membership association comprising of members drawn from healthcare, education, and patient safety backgrounds including researchers, learning technologists, workforce development or education managers, administrators, and healthcare staff and students. All have a genuine interest in new and innovative methods of learning, as well as optimizing the use of existing simulation resources within their practice. Their membership bridges undergraduate and pre-registration education as well as postgraduate and post-registration training and ongoing CPD for all of the health and social care workforce. New Zealand Association for Simulation in Healthcare Conference

NZASH was incorporated as a Society in 2004 after an initial simulation interest group meeting in Hamilton, New Zealand. In brief, the Society aims to provide: a coordinating network for collaboration on healthcare simulation activities in NZ, including research representation of the views of members on healthcare simulation educational support and resource information for providers of healthcare simulation, including educational meetings a forum for national issues including standards, funding and other associated matters.

SIM Expo continues to be the largest interprofessional and multidisciplinary simulation conference in Canada! Each year, the SIM Expo brings together healthcare leaders in university, college, hospital, emergency services, and community care sectors. Their participants are deans, administrators, educators, clinicians, SIM centre managers and directors, and researchers from all health professions. Most participants are Canadian but it is an open conference and each year they are honored to host some international participants.

The Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research (WISER) is a world-class multidisciplinary training and research facility supporting education, training, and patient safety initiatives at UPMC. WISER is an institute of the University of Pittsburgh with a mission to conduct research and training programs utilizing simulation-based education to provide a safer environment for patients of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and its affiliates. WISER offers several courses and programs to help those in the simulation community improve their skills. Their iSIM course is offered in various worldwide locations and has had preceptors from all over the world spend time watching and learning at WISER.

Lance Baily, BA, EMT-B, is the Founder & CEO of HealthySimulation.com, which he started while serving as the Director of the Nevada System of Higher Education’s Clinical Simulation Center of Las Vegas back in 2010. Lance is also the Founder and acting Advisor to the Board of SimGHOSTS.org, the world’s only non-profit organization dedicated to supporting professionals operating healthcare simulation technologies. His co-edited Book: “Comprehensive Healthcare Simulation: Operations, Technology, and Innovative Practice” is cited as a key source for professional certification in the industry. Lance’s background also includes serving as a Simulation Technology Specialist for the LA Community College District, EMS fire fighting, Hollywood movie production, rescue diving, and global travel. He and his wife Abigail Baily, PhD live in Las Vegas, Nevada with their two amazing daughters.
