Abstract:
The presenter’s have worked in both high-budget high-fidelity and low-budget low-fidelity healthcare simulation spaces. Here, the presenters will reflect on effective ways to maximize outcomes from the lower budget simulation spaces, with effective simulation scenario and sim lab designs, low cost low fidelity simulators, psycological learner interventions and effective debriefing techniques. The presenters suggest a redefined clinical simulation experience to include “intelligent” relational sim lab spaces where increased interactivity leads to increased realism and sim scenario learner outcomes. The presenters will discuss possible answers to the question “No matter the simulation lab budget or sim lab spaces available, how can we increase simulation program efficiency with low budget simulation spaces?”
Learning Objectives:
- Learn how to design clinical simulation scenarios and sim lab spaces with a focus on human factors.
- Review the status of medical simulation utilization in Italy and how outcomes are achieved without massive budgets.
- Develop effective healthcare simulation and debriefing techniques with low resources.
