The need for well-designed training curriculum and quality ultrasound task trainers has increased exponentially. “A Practice of Anesthesia for Infants and Children” (Elsevier, 2019) suggests that “Given that crises in pediatric anesthesia are relatively rare and unpredictable and that anesthesia residents and faculty are expected to be able to successfully manage these situations, simulation-based education can fill these important knowledge gaps…”. The quote speaks to the relative importance of quality simulation-based training in pediatric regional anesthesia (or PRA) for ensuring procedural efficacy and patient safety.
