Abstract:
People throw around the different realities that compose the “Metaverse.” It can be difficult to know what they mean and, more importantly, how they can further your simulation practice. These technologies are important and can be an efficient way to train doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
In this webinar, Dr. Patricia C. Ramos, the Medical Director, Center for Innovative Medical Simulation at Kaiser Permanente Northwest is joined by Joy Jacobs, RN, BSN and Stephen McIver of GigXR to explain the differences between virtual reality, mixed reality, and augmented reality as well as their applicability to healthcare training.
You’ll leave this webinar understanding what these different “realities” mean in terms of features and training experience, as well as their respective benefits versus one another and traditional analog capabilities like high fidelity manikins.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the difference between “virtual reality”, “mixed reality” and “augmented reality”.
- See how your program can use the Metaverse to make simulation training more flexible.
- Learn the benefits of “holographic patients” as simulated patients.
