Abstract:
EMS agencies are facing increasing difficulties carrying out hands-on simulation training for continuing education in the absence of classrooms and with limited person-to-person contact. When you consider the additional pressure of budget cuts and shortfalls, EMS leaders are scrambling to do more with less. Industry trainer and retired EMT-P Tom Cox discusses how advancements in technology have allowed agencies to pivot from standard simulation training to virtual, immersive training with the help of applications like VRpatients. In this webinar, Cox will demonstrate how EMS leaders can easily create clinical case scenarios to reinforce new skills or recreate a rare occurrence and objectively assess a user’s performance. Lastly, he will address how immersive technologies are helping agencies get around budget shortfalls and available funding options you may not know about.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the practical application of virtual simulation tools for training and skills assessment.
- Evaluate how virtual and online simulation tools can be incorporated into current training models from a knowledge retention and budget standpoint.
- Learn how to create and deploy a your own customized clinical case scenario.
