Presentation Abstract
After the last 12 months we are all thinking, “Where do we go from here?” or “What do we need most in the next five or ten years?” After speaking to Simulation Leaders, doing literature reviews, and collaborating with key stakeholders we will discuss, “Hot Topics in Healthcare Education and Simulation Launching The Next Decade.” We will use a survey or ARS (audience-response system) to survey attendees as well to guide conversation and direction.
Over our 60 minutes we will discuss the last ten years. Some history, some needs, some advancements in medicine, and how our industry partners have helped us to get where we are. Then we will dive into the forecasting, the literature, the off-line discussions from previous expert panel discussions, podium presentations, and online resources exploring, “Where do we go from here?”
Look for an engaging conversation covering professional development, science, and technology.

Presenter Biography
Adam Dodson is known around the world as a simulation expert. As a young Paramedic, he entered the US Army where he began teaching medicine for the Surgeon General as a Medical Specialist. He has been faculty with the University of Maryland for almost twenty years, and for the last decade has worked as the Operations Manager for Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. During this time he has helped many countries build simulation centers or simulation programs. He has consulted with dozens of companies to improve simulation technology, medical education, medical equipment or professional development. In 2020, he virtually presented at ROSOMED in Russia as a Simulation Expert representing the US. He enjoys reading, learning, and discussing critical care medicine.
