Abstract:

The presenter will discuss how virtual reality training can mitigate risk in clinical practice, specifically regarding the potential to reduce malpractice. The presenter will show how to use VR technologies to increase training efficiency during staffing issues. Additionally, the presenter will cover how to implement VR into clinical simulation programs, the cost and labor efficiencies of VR, as well as answer questions your questions about getting VR in your organization. 

The presentation will also showcase the innovative VR technologies from Health Scholars. Jonathan Epstein MEMS, NRP
Director of Product & Strategy at Health Scholars
A nationally registered Paramedic for 30 years, Epstein received a Master’s Degree in Emergency Medical Services from the Hahnemann University School of Graduate Studies (Drexel University). Jonathan volunteers as a Domain Lead for emergency care for the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) and is a member of the First Aid Taskforce. He previously served as the Chair of International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Board of Directors; a nonprofit dedicated to the education of managing out-of-hospital trauma patients. Where he currently serves in leadership on the ITLS Editorial Board.
Jonathan Epstein served as the Director of Product Management – Emergency Care for Public Safety Group, a Division of Jones & Bartlett Learning at Ascend Learning. The Emergency Care portfolio includes educational content, courseware, products and services that span the breadth and depth of the emergency medical services (EMS) industry including initial and continuing education. In his role Jonathan also directed the Emergency Care Safety Institute (ECSI).
Jonathan now serves as Director of Product & Strategy for the VR healthcare innovations company, Health Scholars. Jonathan provides years of product experience and is helping develop VR applications for Operating Room, Labor & Delivery and Emergency Care scenarios.
