Missouri State University Simulation Lab Coordinator

Position Title:  6035 Coordinator, Simulation Center – School of Nursing



The faculty of the School Nursing at Missouri State University are searching for a colleague to join our vibrant and collegial academic unit. The position is for a staff position Coordinating the simulation Center for the School of Nursing. MSU has a Public Affairs Mission and is committed to the pillars of Cultural Competence, Ethical Leadership and Community Engagement. We currently enroll more than 24,000 students (approximately 20,000 undergraduates and 4,000 graduate students). The School of Nursing has 23 full time faculty members, 50+ graduate students (enrolled in MS, Professional Doctoral programs), and approximately 520 undergraduate students with a student population that is 23.5% Latinx, 6% Black, 55% White, and 6% multiracial. The ideal candidate will share MSU’s commitment to our diverse student population.



We seek a candidate who can demonstrate a commitment to inclusive teaching practices and expertise in Simulation. The Simulation Center Coordinator oversees the preparation, maintenance, inventory, and operation of all simulation equipment/supplies and collaborates with faculty to design, plan, implement and schedule simulation activities. The Simulation Center Coordinator ensures adherence to program policies, course objectives, program outcomes and current simulation best practice and safety measures.




  • A high school diploma or equivalency is required and at least five years of experience in healthcare simulation as an educator or simulation technician.
  • Healthcare field experience as a paramedic, EMT, ER tech, Respiratory Therapist, RN or Hospital technical is required.
  • Clinical knowledge and other allied health profession certification and training is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with PC and Mac platforms with experience in MS Office and including Audivisual and computerized simulation equipment is preferred
  • Potential for or evidence of innovative, learner-centered pedagogy
  • The ability or potential to mentor and support our student population
  • The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.


Salary and Benefits:

Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Benefits available include health, vision, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs.  Dependents and spouses of full time MSU employees are entitled to tuition waivers for dependents, up to 15 credits/year.  The position is a nine-month appointment.
