The Health Professions Education Coordinator, Simulation Technician, reports directly to the Simulated Learning Centers (SLC) Director of Operations and will support the technical and teaching activities of the Kanbar Simulation Center as well as American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification courses, community outreach and relationship-building activities.

This position is responsible for SLC technical operations and teaching support and will be required to apply many unique skills and knowledge including; clinical, computer and simulation technology for multiple disciplines. Responsibilities will also include the planning and delivery of clinical training scenarios and program development, faculty and community liaison, and compliance with standards and regulations, maintenance and repair of computerized manikins (software and hardware) repair and maintenance of partial task trainers and multimedia peripherals.

The Kanbar Simulation Center supports UCSF's educational mission of teaching, learning, and assessment through simulation recreating routine and complex situations, thereby improving patient care and safety. The center serves all five health professional schools at UCSF and provides learning opportunities across the continuum of health professions education.
