Description
Reporting to the Department Chair and CWSON Dean, the CWSON Director of Simulation is first required to evidence and maintain a vibrant, growing faith in Jesus Christ. CWSON faculty are responsible for teaching, student advising, service to the university and community, scholarly activities and program assessment and accreditation. Faculty will be reviewed and evaluated on the basis of how well they carry out these duties.
The CWSON Director of Simulation (DS) will manage and oversee a variety of activities involved in developing and utilizing the simulation lab as a vital element in the education of healthcare students and professionals – both within and outside Bryan College. Responsibilities may also include involvement in off-campus, occasional evening or weekend duties, and student recruitment, retention, and placement efforts. These responsibilities will be guided and directed by the Department Chair and/or Dean of the Clara Ward School of Nursing.

Education Required
Healthcare Simulation Educator® certification
If not certified, be willing to earn this credential within four years
Experience Required
Have at least three years of direct client care experience as an RN
Duties
Collaborate with faculty to schedule, develop and coordinate evidence-based simulation and lab activities to meet course objectives
Develop, implement, and evaluate the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education simulation activities
Working with the Department Chair and/or CWSON Dean, create and manage a process to develop, maintain/repair and upgrade the simulation and skills labs
Orient faculty to equipment, policies and procedures
Develop short- and long-term plans for the growth, development and use of the simulation and lab facilities to benefit both Bryan College and the community
Demonstrate continued professional competency and personal/professional development
Participate fully in School of Nursing program development and assessment
Assist with Department special events as needed
Participate in academic advisement and counseling of students
Implement the School’s evaluation and assessment plan based upon all relevant nursing standards and guidelines
Participate in faith, scholarship and practice/service activities
Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualities
Be able to practice as an RN or APRN in Tennessee without any disciplinary action that currently restricts practice
Comply with all state and national simulation- and lab-related recommendations and regulations
Prior teaching experience is required
Prior simulation experience strongly preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills are required
Fluent in English
Excellent computer skills, including using an online learning management system, are required
