Clinical Simulation Educator: Midwestern University Arizona
The Clinical Simulation Educator is a 0.5FTE position responsible for instructing in a simulation setting to include curriculum design, development, implementation and assessment. This employee may also take on other teaching duties for their respective college. This employee will report to Director of Clinical Skills and Simulation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement curriculum for novice to experienced learners using simulation technology.
- Ensure that simulation cases and format meet standards of quality assurance for breadth and depth of education, and user expectations.
- Provide faculty development in the area of simulation-based assessment and education.
- Assist in data collection, data analysis, and grant writing for the purpose of simulation-based research.
- Develop working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff and students within the institution as well as with other simulation centers and educational organizations.
- Other teaching duties as assigned by respective college of individual’s faculty appointment.

Education and/or Experience
Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited institution required; Must have at least 5 years of previous clinical experience, preferable as a Physician, Physician Assistant, Advanced Practice Nurse, Pharmacist, etc. Experience in teaching in healthcare education highly desirable. Additional experience in developing and implementing simulation experiences for healthcare/academi,and/or across the healthcare delivery system highly desirable. Certification as an ACLS/BLS instructor highly desired but not required.
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
High skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and boards of directors.
High skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Intermediate skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interests, commissions and proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
