Job Description

 

Works collaboratively with UVI MSC leadership, faculty, clients and staff to ensure evidence-based clinical standards and simulation best practices are reflected in all simulation-based educational curriculum and activities. Develops and implements simulation-based education to enhance patient safety and quality in healthcare. Reports to the Medical Simulation Center Director.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Licensure as health professions educator, Physician, Physician Assistant, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse.

Masters or Doctorate in a health profession or education-related discipline.

Combination of education, training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in possession of the qualifications necessary to perform the duties of this position

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) – current certification preferred.

 

Physical Demands

 

Must be able to sit for at least 4 hours at a time.

Must be able to stand for up to 5 hours per day.

Must be able to walk 3 hours per day.

Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation.

Must be able to see as it relates to general and near vision.

Must be able to lift, move or push up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Must be able to carry up to 40 pounds without assistance.
