Hello all,

My name is Lorenzo and I was first bitten by the simulation bug while serving as an Army Medic in 2003. We had an extensive budget and were able to do some really cool things with a simulator using a portability kit. I am now a faculty member at Western New Mexico University in the School of Nursing and Kinesiology. I strive to balance the need for multiple simulation applications. From walk through, to VR, to performance analysis and improvement. WNMU is an open enrollment open access institution, so no ACT, no SAT requirements for admission. Yet we have had 100% NCLEX pass rates two years running. I am proud of my part in the overall mission. Simulation is the best tool to ensure concept, kinesthetic, and affective synthesis occurs so that our students don’t just pass an exam, they come out knowing how to think and how to learn.
