Each year, the ASPE Annual Conference provides a space where a community of healthcare simulation educators, researchers, creators, and practitioners can share their practice of turning visions into reality through human simulation. This year, the 2022 ASPE Annual Conference – with the theme “Celebrating Our History, Imagining Our Future” – will take place from June 26 to 29, 2022 in New Orleans, Louisiana. More About ASPE Standards of Best Practice
ASPE members from around the world have contributed to the development of the ASPE Standards of Best Practice (SOBP). The standards were written to ensure the growth, integrity, and safe application of SP-based education practices. The standards identify five domains: safe work environment; case development; SP training for role portrayal, feedback, and completion of assessment instruments; program management, and professional development.
The domains are divided into principles that are elucidated by key practices that offer practical guidelines for desired outcomes and safe simulation practices. The standards have been published in Advances in Simulation. Note: The ASPE Standards of Best Practice (SOBP) have been translated into other languages with the aspirational goal of extending ASPE SOBP based on institutional resources. The translated versions are provided here as submitted by those who have completed the translations.
