Remedy Simulation Group Shapes the Future of 3D Clinical Education

Gone are the days where 2D learning was the sole method of clinical training. Thanks to advances in healthcare simulation and 3D printing, clinical simulation vendors are now able to produce education and training products that realistically portray the patients they are meant to represent. Doing just that, Remedy Simulation Group combines cutting-edge technology with hands-on production techniques to provide custom capabilities. This includes design staff, responsive research and development teams, 3D printing machinery, model and mold making teams, and manufacturing from single items to over 1,000 piece orders. This article shares how the company’s 3D product offerings help to facilitate high-fidelity simulation training.

In the field of medicine, Remedy Simulation Group stresses that innovation is critical to making a difference. For this reason, the company continually explores new ideas and deploys the latest tools and techniques to enhance the product development process. From handmade proprietary formulations to advanced 3D printing capabilities, the company’s mold makers, casting experts, designers, and other industry professionals are dedicated to innovative solutions that pave new roads.

The company’s founding principle, “Improving the Standard of Practice” applies to all everyday operations through a solution-minded approach for clinical simulation educators and learners. Since the company’s inception in 2016, Remedy Simulation Group has become the proud supplier of 3D customer solutions in leading nursing schools, medical schools, pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies, and healthcare simulation companies domestically and globally. The company’s Quality Systems are based on ISO13485 and have been USA-made since 2011.

Remedy Simulation Group 3D Product Portfolio Examples

“Lance” Blood Glucose Test Trainer: “Lance” is Remedy Simulation Group’s simulated finger stick and blood glucose trainer. This product allows a learner or patient to have a life-like experience when testing blood sugar, using a glucose meter, and obtaining a reading. “Lance” fits over the finger of a standardized patient or manikin, and is available in two options: with or without a simulated blood fill kit. All versions of “Lance” ship without fluid in the fingers, and each package contains three fingers.

“Cathi” Female Catheterization Trainer: “Cathi” is Remedy Simulation Group’s simulated female catheterization trainer. “Cathi” is specifically designed to fit the reconfigured Remedy Cath Stand and will fit most Laerdal Manikins. The tissue is supple and pliable for easy spreading using the thumb and index finger. The labia minora realistically closes over the vaginal and urethral openings. The product can be used to practice locating the urethral meatus and urinary catheter placement. Successful catheterization will be confirmed with urine flashback. The bladder module is used with an IV bag that can be hung or inserted into a pressure infuser bag to provide flashback.

“Willi” Male Catheterization Trainer: “Willi” is Remedy Simulation Group’s simulated male catheterization trainer. “Willi” is specifically designed to fit the reconfigured Remedy Cath Stand and will fit most Laerdal Manikins. The feel of the material is realistic and delicate like actual tissue. “Willi” ships with a removable foreskin and prostate band which can help simulate an enlarged prostate. Successful catheterization will be confirmed with urine flashback. The bladder module is used with an IV bag that can be hung or inserted into a pressure infuser bag to provide flashback.

“Pete” Wearable Injection Pad (Thigh): “Pete” is Remedy Simulation Group’s wearable thigh simulated injection pad. “Pete” was designed to be used on either a standardized patient or manikin on the upper thigh and will help your students simulate Z-Track and Intramuscular injections. To help aid in Intramuscular injections “Pete” has a thicker layer of material under the skin layer to mimic the Vastus Lateralis muscle. Like other Remedy Simulation Group injection pads, “Pete” has bottom drainage and can be used with fluid-filled syringes.

Basic Tissue Insert: The Basic Tissue Insert is for use in the practice of basic closure methods. The tissue plate is made of four layers developed to match the feel of the epidermis, dermis, fat, and muscle. All layers accept adhesive and bandage closure methods. The product is completely animal-friendly and mess-free. During use, the skin layer does not propagate a tear and will appropriately hold a suture. Tissue plates can be saved for evaluation or reused multiple times.

Other 3D Remedy Simulation Group solutions include:

  • Demo Bio-Patch (pack of 25): Package includes 25 Demo Bio-Patch disks for use in simulation.
  • 3D Print Capabilities: 3D Prints are Custom Items.
