International Pediatric Simulation Society Hosts Annual Event Virtually This October 26-28

The International Pediatric Simulation Society (IPSS) is pivoting their annual Workshop Conference Event “IPSSW” to a completely Virtual event now called “IPSSV” for 2020. The organization’s leadership and the meeting organizing committee have been closely monitoring the  situation around COVID-19 and have decided that for the safety of everyone involved, they needed to transform this conference. As such, the organization is excited to announce that “IPSSV 2020: A Virtual Experience” will be an innovative, interactive, live streaming pediatric simulation conference which we are sharing more about here today.

The International Pediatric Simulation Society (IPSS) is dedicated entirely to pediatric, perinatal, and associated health care providers and organizations utilizing simulation-based education to improve care and safety for children. The International Pediatric Simulation Society (IPSS) was founded in 2008 by 11 multi-national pediatric medical practitioners. Their goal was to promote multi-disciplinary simulation in all healthcare subspecialties that treat infants and children, and their mission is to inspire, grow and lead the global Pediatric Simulation community. These professionals strive to bring the knowledge and skills they have gained to the widest possible audience, and welcome all healthcare professionals who care for children and infants regardless of where one practices, for they truly are global their mindset. Since their first meeting in Stockholm, membership to the International Pediatric Simulation Society has grown to span the globe.

The dates for IPSSV will remain as previously planned, 26-28 October 2020, with more details related to agenda and details coming out weekly. The organization’s commitment holds just as true to this virtual convening, as it does to their in-person IPSSW. The goal remains to offer a program allowing presentations of scientific work to be accessible to their global membership. This virtual convening is being developed to exceed clinical simulation champion expectations and promises to be just as engaging, thought provoking, and relevant as ever before!
