SimAction Enables Manikins To Seize & Jolt to Defib | IMSH 2019 Video Demo
For Simulation Programs looking to increase realism for their patient simulators, SimAction provides the SimSeize and SimDefib to mimic the movement of patients experiencing seizures or defibrillation. Working with any manikin, the SimSeize is easily installed into any hospital mattress and controlled by wirelessly via android or iOS app. Quiet and simple to use, this device can quickly increase the realism of your medical simulation educational and training experiences. Below you can watch the SimAction devices in action with our IMSH 2019 Video demonstration, which is currently distributed by Nasco.
SimAction’s seizure simulator is a motorized actuator powerful enough to produce full body motion which replicates a real seizure. When coupled with any training manikin, it enriches the learning experience for nursing and medical students, hospital staff, firemen, schools, churches, and anyone in need of hands on seizure training by simulating a real-life emergency situation with convincing realism.
This exciting new addition to the simulation environment can be used to create a lifelike event to promote learning and teamwork. Improved teamwork has been proven to translate into improved patient care. SimSeize installs into a standard hospital bed and is compatible with any manikin placed on the bed. Simseize is now wireless and is controlled through an easy to use android/IOS app which provides ease of use, flexibility and precise control. SimSeize shakes the manikin in a convincingly lifelike manner and allows hospital personnel to intervene with the “patient” and to perfect their seizure-response skills.

SimSeize Features
- Real-life replication of seizure motion
- Customizable seizure speeds
- Seizure actuator controlled via easy to use pendant operation
- Wireless Capabilities allows training instructors to control SimSeize operation with Android/IOS App
- Compatible with pediatric or adult manikins
- Installs easily into standard hospital mattresses
SimAction’s Defibrillation Simulator is a motorized actuator powerful enough to produce full body motion which replicates a real defibrillation. When coupled with any defibrillator, it enriches the learning experience for nursing and medical students as well as hospital staff by simulating a real-life emergency situation with convincing realism.
The convenient sensor is placed on the cable to the defibrillation pads, or paddles. The system will automatically jolt the ‘patient’ when the shock is administered. “Another seamless integration into your lab using equipment you already have!” SimDefib jolts the manikin in a convincingly lifelike manner and allows hospital personnel to intervene with the “patient” and to perfect their code response skills.
