At IMSH 2019, HealthySimulation.com toured the SSH exhibit hall to see the latest in Simbionix surgical simulator technologies by stopping by the 3D Systems booth. We got an exclusive on-camera demonstration of these new surgery simulator technologies, including the ARTHRO Mentor express, TEE Express, ANGRIO Mentor Suite, Internventional Ultrasound through the U/S Mentor platform as well as more details about the comprehensive learning system MentorLearn. ARTHRO Mentor Express
This first-to-market portable training solution is designed to help medical professionals learn and perfect surgical procedures for knees, shoulders and hips on a portable and affordable tabletop platform. The ARTHRO Mentor Express has one universal anatomical model that includes knee arthroscopy in Flexed and Extended positions, shoulder arthroscopy in Beach Chair and Lateral positions, and hip arthroscopy in the Supine position. This results in an unmatched all-in-one training solution that is compact and portable for industry product demonstrations as well as orthopedic department training.
This affordable platform is an enhanced self-training tool, design to teach Trans-esophageal Echocardiography (TEE) using a realistic TEE probe. The simulator provides tasks and cases in a full range of pathologies to practice a realistic and comprehensive TEE examination. Trainees can hone their skills to capture the standard views in a didactic environment, use advanced measurements and imaging modes as well as diagnose diverse clinical findings. The benefit of this device is the size — packed in a carr-on suitcase for compact, affordable and easy to setup simulated training with actual modified TEE probes that realistically maneuver for self-learning on a 3D anatomical map in full clinical environments. The clinical cases include valvular pathologies, congenital defects and atrial fibrillation.
ANGIO Mentor Suite
The ANGIO Mentor family of products provides clinicians with various platforms on which to practice endovascular skills and full procedures on realistic fluoroscopic images using the same tools used in real procedures. In addition to the technical skills, clinicians can benefit even more from hands-on training when it is provided in a true to life clinical environment, in a setting that facilitates team training. The ANGIO Mentor Suite is fully backwards compatible and enables operation of the entire Simbionix ANGIO Mentor / PROcedure Rehearsal Studio library of modules (18 ANGIO Mentor endovascular modules to date).

MentorLearn is a web based Simulator Curricula Management System, providing the optimal solution for managing simulation based training and education needs for the 3D Systems line of simulators. This easy to use system facilitates performing the administrative tasks of running a training course or workshop. The extensive library of courses includes a library of ready-to-use simulator based courses and a platform to design new ones. Courses may include online didactic content, proficiency based hands-on training and performance review and assessment.
