SESAM 2018 Moves From Barcelona to Bilbao Spain, Abstracts Extended to Dec. 4th
A letter this week from SESAM President Dr. David Grant regarding a need to move the 2018 SESAM event from Barcelona to nearby Bilbao. All those simulation champions in the EU should remark their calendars and consider joining the world’s oldest healthcare simulation organization at their annual event next June! Because of the change, the abstract submission process has been extended until December 4th! From David:
Dear SESAM Friends,
A complex mix of reasons has led to the unexpected closure of some of the venues we were holding for the meeting in Barcelona. This coupled with the inability to find suitable alternative venues in the city within the remaining time has led SESAM, in coordination with SESSEP, to opt to move the meeting to Bilbao on the same dates planned (27th to 29th June 2018).
Bilbao is a thriving city in the north of Spain, celebrated for its urban regeneration. It is home to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao for contemporary art and is a centre of Basque culture. Although it has been a very difficult decision to make to move SESAM 2018 to Bilbao, we believe that Bilbao will be a wonderful destination for SESAM 2018
Due to the change in destination, we have decided to grant a FINAL extension for abstracts until midnight (GMT) on Monday 4th December 2018.
We acknowledge that abstracts have already been submitted with the intention of presenting them in Barcelona and apologise for any difficulties this may cause, but hope that you can understand the mitigating circumstances.
We look forward to seeing you all in Bilbao and would like to reassure you that the meeting planning processes, including planning of the scientific programme, are progressing well.
