With Simulation emerging as a novel approach to educating and training healthcare professionals, the demand for simulation professionals has skyrocketed. The University of San Francisco is proud to be leading this change by announcing our new online Certificate in Healthcare simulation program. - Online format – Students attend courses online and complete assignments when they choose, adhering to coursework deadlines.
- Designed to complete in one (1) year or three (3) semesters.
- Students are required to attend a teaching & instruction Practicum held in a Simulation Lab (in-person or virtual).

Distinguished Faculty
- The Director of the program, KT Waxman, DNP, RN, CNL, CENP, CHSE, FAAN is Director of the California Simulation Alliance and is an internationally known speaker and author on the topic of healthcare simulation.
- Cynthia Shum DNP (c), MEd, RN, CHSE–A is the Healthcare Simulation Educator at the Veteran’s Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. Cynthia has received a Certificate of Outstanding Contribution in reviewing the “Clinical Simulation in Nursing” journal in 2015. In 2012 she was awarded the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator certificate by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.

Lance Baily, BA, EMT-B, is the Founder & CEO of HealthySimulation.com, which he started while serving as the Director of the Nevada System of Higher Education’s Clinical Simulation Center of Las Vegas back in 2010. Lance is also the Founder and current Chairman of the Board of SimGHOSTS.org, the world’s only non-profit organization dedicated to supporting professionals operating healthcare simulation technologies. His new co-edited Book: “Comprehensive Healthcare Simulation: Operations, Technology, and Innovative Practice” is available now. Lance’s background includes serving as a Simulation Technology Specialist for the LA Community College District, EMS fire fighting, Hollywood movie production, rescue diving, and global travel. He lives with his wife Abigail in Las Vegas, Nevada.
